Coffee Works Arts & Crafters

Douglass Truth

Douglass Truth

painter, writer, and performer

Doug was one of the first artists Coffee Works worked with. His design studio at the time was called Flying Turtle Graphics and he produced marvelous mugs and fantastic conceptual tshirts. Then he awakened one day to the truth he was an artist and thankfully has not stopped painting, writing, and performing since.

He has painted a number of works just for us. We are proud to offer one of them here as a print of the Coffee Works building. We still add to our collection of his paintings of coffee cups, despite having no room left at the house and shop. Please do your part and visit his website and Etsy store and decorate the drabness.

Our favorite is always the next one.

Pat Hill

Pat Hill

Coffee Mugs

We‘ve always enjoyed Pat Hill’s charming coffee mugs. Like natural coffees they present a boldly exotic face, full of character. Their shape is comically irregular yet each stands solidly upright with inner dignity. We like the feel of the rounded unglazed base as it snugly fills the palm. The inside and rim are glazed in earthy tones, the outsides festooned with whimsical insignia or mystical fauna.

Charming vessels for a workingman’s tonic.
